How to Order

Each item is carefully handcrafted to your satisfaction, bare this in mind when you order your stationery; it might take slightly longer than ordering a standard non-personalized stationery.

Save the date:
As soon as you have your date, get in touch! Venue & time is not needed for a save the date, however if it’s a destination wedding, we would suggest you
put the country/area where you want to get married so your guests can start planning their trip and book their flight.

Invitation/RSVP:
As soon as you have your date, venue & time.
3-6 months before the wedding day is the norm, but don’t panic if you have less time, Thanda Creations will try their best to accommodate you.

On-the-day stationery & thank you card:
They can be ordered much later.
As long as you let us know that you will order from us & pay a deposit (so we can book a space on the calendar & order specific paper) you can place your order up to 3 weeks before the wedding day.
This is important if you order printed place cards & a table plan since you will need to wait for all RSVP to be sent back to you.

HOW MANY TO ORDER:
Count on one invitation per household.
If there are children aged 18 or over living with their parents, it is advisable to send them a separate invitation. It is also advisable to send separate invitations if 2 families or friends share a house.

After calculating the number needed, add an extra 5-10 cards (or 10% of the number you sent) for keepsake and last minute guests; you might want to invite other guests who were on your “second” list after receiving rsvp of guests not being able to make the wedding.

We would also advise you to order a few more envelopes in case you make mistakes while writing your guests’ addresses.

Thanda Creations offers an envelope printing service at £0.35/envelope.

Save the date:
Up to 1 year before the wedding day
■ wedding abroad
■ guests living abroad

8-10 months before the wedding day if it’s a very popular weekend or busy time of year, i.e bank holiday, Christmas or summer holidays.
Or you decide to have a mid-week wedding (so people have time to take a day off work).

Invitation:
6-8 weeks before the wedding day, this is the norm. Obviously, you know your guests better than us.

5 months + if your guests have to book their trip or a destination wedding and you haven’t sent a save-the-date.

RSVP:
Your RSVP card will usually be sent with the invitation, however you need to give your guests a date for reply, which is usually 3-4 weeks before the wedding.

The date you put on your reply card depends mainly on your caterers; ask them when they need the final count and add one week to it because it is guaranteed some guests will wait till the last minute to send their card back.
So if your big day is on the 22nd of August and you caterers final count is needed by the 13th, your reply date printed on the card should be the 6th of August.

Thank you card:
Send them ASAP.

You can send your thank you cards up to 3 months after your wedding, if you wait longer, it is considered a bit rude.

We would advise sending them within 2 weeks of coming back from your honeymoon. Some couples write their thank you cards whist on their honeymoon, why not?
