So you decided to get married abroad, a french chateau in Dordogne or a game reserve in the Kruger maybe, but where to start? It takes an average of 300 hours to plan a wedding in the UK, let alone abroad! We understand the modern bride doesn’t have that much free time on her hands, so we’re here to help. Plus you might not be too familiar with the country, or french might not have been your forte at school, that’s where our expertise comes in. We love a wedding abroad and we have the best people to help you make your wedding a magical moment for you and your guests. Thanda Creations is a small business, our clients are not a number on a list like those big UK companies offering weddings abroad. We specialise in 1 to 1 contact and little touches that make your wedding day extra special.

France is where I come from and my lovely husband is South African, I know both countries very well, the culture, the food, the special places...beach, game reserve, vineyard, mountain, town, whatever wedding style you want, we will realise it for you. What makes us different from other foreign wedding planning companies is that you have your own planner in the UK, who can be contacted at any time and Thanda Creations also has planners/coordinators in each country: Caroline in south-west France & Louise in South Africa

Your involvement in the planning can be as big or as small as you wish, but be certain you will always have the last say. We will advise and coordinate but you will make the final decisions.

First initial consultation:
This will be in the UK, you don’t have to travel abroad or blow your budget with foreign phone calls. We will meet in a place of your choice or have a phone conversation to initially talk about your dream wedding. We will get to know you a bit better and discuss theme, budget, ideas etc...

The Ceremony / Reception Venue:
This is the big one. Where do you see yourself getting married? Whether you have a distinct idea of what you want or no idea at all, we will search venues and find the perfect one for you. We will give you a choice of venues with a presentation on each of them. We will attend visits and meetings with you if necessary.

The Suppliers/ Service Providers:
Thanda Creations will source every supplier necessary for your special day. We do not take commission from suppliers, any discount will be given to you. Stationery-Florist-Photographer-Musicians-Caterer-Cake-Bespoke Jewellery-Transport- ETC... We will give you a choice of suppliers, their services & prices meeting your views and budget. We will also make appointments and attend meetings with you if necessary.

Paperwork:
We will be your PA & your accountant, leave the admin to us. If you want us at a meeting, we will be there. We will manage all suppliers, make appointments and remind you of them! Unlimited emails and phone calls, whatever the time of day, even when abroad. We will draw a timeline of the day and make sure you are happy with it all. All suppliers will have a copy so they are aware of the day’s events.

Design/Decoration:
Once we have a better idea of who you are and what you want, we will present you with a design board to get the big picture of your wedding day. We will work with you to design your vision. We will then coordinate with the venue abroad and our coordinator will put the final touches on the day to make your wedding unique to you. We thrive in decorating a venue, from transforming a simple room to a magical winter wonderland or creating a beautiful “rustic chic” table setting in the African bush.

On the Day:
We will be there to ensure it all goes smoothly; answering calls, putting the final touches, managing suppliers following the timeline, being there to answer everybody’s questions, making sure you and your guests are happy and enjoying your day. Price: 10% of the budget (minimum charge of £1500). Contact us today. Attending suppliers meetings with the bridal couple will be charged extra depending on travel.

Honeymoon:
Having worked in the travel industry for 8 years, I will personally work with you to make your honeymoon the trip of a lifetime. I travelled extensively especially to France & South Africa, but also New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, the USA, Corsica, Mozambique... whatever you wish for. I thrive in finding the new gems, not yet “discovered by the crowd” places.

The dress:
It can be daunting to find the perfect dress; it’s not just a case of walking into a shop and buying one, oh no! Most of the shops now will only see you by appointment and it takes time to search for the right shops and arrange appointments. Thanda Creations can help you in your search of the perfect dress.

The Guests:
A wedding abroad usually means guests coming from the 4 corners of the world. Thanda Creations will help with the accommodation arrangements, advise on the best flight times and cost; we can also leave little welcome gift packs in their rooms, prepare an advice program with restaurant/bars and things to do in the area.
